Artist Statement.

My statement begins with my creative process. It consisted of many stages, first, the actual thinking stage where I needed to come up with an idea for a project that is suitable and presentable for the requirements. The second stage of my creative process consisted of coming up with a draft of the project, and then collaborating with my peers to see how I can better my project from there. I then incorporate the suggestions I received into my project and further continue to advance it to it's final phase. I used Adobe Illustrator for the majority of my projects, as well as inDesign. Illustrator provided many much needed tools in order to complete ideas fully. All of the tools helped to contribute to your specific design. There is tracing, sketching, different shapes to add, and so much more. I was able to translate my ideas into these programs through sketching, outlining, merging, and more. All of these tools helped shape each and every one of my final drafts into my final projects. I went from incredibly unskilled in Adobe Illustrator to very understanding of this program. The continued use of illustrator and experience gained from projects assigned helped to pull together the final results of my portfolio. The infographic shown above in the project category was my most recent project. I implemented many of the tools provided by illustrator into this project. For example, I used the sketch tool, paintbrush, different drawing tools, and much more. There was a lot that had to be put in to complete this project. From the drafts to the final project, it was not incredibly easy. I did three drafts, talked with my peers and teachers, implemented them into illustrator, got more feedback, and finalized my project. It was a fun and informing experience because it would not have been possible without the help of others. Then again, nothing in my portfolio would be possible without others.
